I am able to spend 2-4 hours at my desk, working on the editing of my 3rd book in the "Badge and the Cross" Series. First two, "Rookie" and "Stronghold", are in Susan Smith's hands for final editing. She and I are now working on the cover for "Legend of Silene". We found a lot of nice covers, but they were under copyrights and expensive to use. So, I've done the artwork myself and she is working on the lettering.
Now, I have a big favor to ask of all of you, well the ones who have read my first books.
At the moment, my great-grandchildren are on the other side of my desk watching a strange cartoon. The new animation out there amazes me, as I remember the cartoons I watched in the 1950's and 1960's. Our children grew up with the first of the cable channels, while I grew up with only three local channels, which came in Black & White. I know, some of you oldsters grew up with radio. It is funny how our television entertainment has blossomed over the decades, probably a bit faster then anything else has. Except maybe cars and fashions.
John Alex are talking about comic book super heroes and who was the first Black superhero. We were using the computer to show the origin of Luke Cage, but I didn't agree with what they were saying. I remembered him as a side character for Captain America, back in the late 1960's, but computer said he originated in 1979. I didn't read comic books back then. They said he was the first Black hero, but the Black Panther showed up before him, taking over for his father in the protection of their tribe and having super powers. Then they took him to America. Sometimes you cannot trust the so-called facts reported in the computer. This is why I research a lot of my facts in my news, but also for my stories, when I need fact and not fiction. You might remember that when someone tells you "Man, this really happened." that you check it out before passing it on. Rumors can do a lot of harm, I saw that in the service.
Let me pass some recent news on to you and remember, from some of these countries the news might carry propaganda in it. I give you the sites and you can research the whole story if you wanted. I only give you the lead in because in almost all cases, the news stories are not being reported here in America. But, I have noticed some of these stories did show up days later. Yesterday, while e-mailing my publisher I mentioned some of the facts I am using in my current book I'm working on, I mentioned how I should expect the dudes in the dark sunglasses might be coming down my driveway. Instantly, my whole e-mail vanished. This has happened before when I wrote about certain items. I imagine the supercomputer down in the Lower 48 picks up e-mail when I use certain words, "key words" they're called. If this has happened to you, you'll understand. I learned about such when I was still in the military and what I've been able to read. Whatever.

WASHINGTON FREE BEACON: A Massachusetts State Lawmaker wants to remove a tribute to a Civil War General, named Joe Hooker, arguing that the general's name might be offensive to women. (Makes me wonder just how far people are going to go with this so-called offensive speech we have in the English Language. Yes, some of this is offensive, such as the word "Eskimo" , which actually in Alaskan Coastal Native speech means "raw fish eater". Now this is offensive, sort of like the names, Honky, Spic, Nigger and so many more. Such a word does need to be removed. But last names of a Civil War hero. How would he be identified? Some of this is getting ridiculous.)
