All Over the Road is the first book by poet and essayist, Kevin R. Carr.
As the title suggests, it contains a wide variety of styles of poetry. It also includes a diverse range of subject matter in poetry, two essays, and four collections of thoughts shared by the author on social media.
As a commentator on life and as an essayist, Mr. Carr is often amusing, sometimes thought provoking, always entertaining. As a poet, he is candid and accessible and rarely makes a reader work hard to enjoy or understand. In fact, the poetry in this book has often been described as poetry for people who don’t normally think they like poetry. These poems are built of vivid imagery, observations on the minutia of life, honest expression of emotional responses to the world, and occasional twists of humor.
There is something in this poetry, and in this book, for virtually everyone to enjoy.
"Outstanding collection of works written from the heart. Reading so many of these selections took me back to a simpler time of childhood and youth. A must have for readers. Thank you Kevin - for bringing back so many memories of times, smells and seasons gone by. I truly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to your next one."

"I was so thrilled to hear that Kevin Carr had finally published a book of his poetry and other short writings. It was reading Kevin's writings several years ago that first inspired an interest in poetry for me. He has an ability to take small simple moments in everyday life and mine the richness of the sounds, sights, smells and sounds into an artful meditation. He can elevate a walk to the mailbox into a surreal moment and then close it with a chuckle that reminds us not to take life too seriously. His self-deprecating humor will have you chuckling to yourself, long after reading the words. His poignant expressions of personal loss and regret will wrench your heart. All Over the Road is best described as a pure reflection of life; a mix of tears, laughter, love, loss, hope, disappointment and inspiration. Thank you, Kevin, for being an inspiration to me and others who have fallen in love with words after reading yours"

About the Author
A poet of many styles and diversity can take a lifetime to develop. Kevin’s early attempts at poetry were ignored in favor of the cheers of his high school athletic accomplishments, and later everyday life accomplishments, such as staying employed.
He eventually married and started a family, at which time he began writing in earnest. Divorced by 30, he spent over 20 years on the road in a sales job in the beautiful states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas.
Through endless hours on the road, and myriads of motel rooms, with his great admiration for Dan Fogelberg an inspiration, the evolution of a poet was in full swing.
A patient observer of natural environments and people, he used the long hours of windshield time, the beautiful land he traveled through and the thousands of people he met as inspiration to develop a wide range of poetic styles, which sometimes include a sneaky sense of humor.
The diversity of Kevin’s writing offers something for everyone, and as he has been told many times, even those who think they don’t like poetry.
