We've had our great-grandchildren; Solomon and Segen here for last two days. Segen has become quite the talker and now I'm able to understand her. Solomon is growing tall and they both seem to like a black felt marker to decorate their faces. These are Patrick and Canaan's children. Canaan is our oldest daughter's (Elizabeth) oldest daughter. They live in Soldotna, which is about 65 miles from our place.
Today I was working on my latest book project, "Sandbox Wars", which is the third book in the "Apache Snow" Trilogy. I know I've mentioned it numerous times, but if your like me you only have so much room in memory storage. I just had to ask for Segen's name as I had forgotten it and I was playing with her only two hours ago. That's one of the reasons I make a lot of notes when I get an idea for another book or short story. I still hope to do a book on my short stories, which will include such tales as "Blue Eyes" and my Christmas tale "A Shaggy Little Tree"- About Christmas in Vietnam that was published about 20 years ago in Guidepost. I'll also have some of the UFO incidents from Edwards Air Force Base and the Haunting episodes from Skagway.
I'm 3/4 through Sandbox Wars and now it seems after 20 years the war over there is finally drawing to a close. I hope and pray the veterans coming home will be treated better than the Vietnam vets. So far, Apache Snow, the first book in the series has been my best seller out of the 6 books we have published.
I've been watching some of the nature documentaries they have on TV. Some of the photography is simply amazing. Watching as a Siberian Tiger walked within a foot of the camera and there is only 600 of them left in the wild. The Alaska specials have been great, but I really enjoy the ocean ones. If you haven't seen them, I highly recommend them.
Here's some of the latest headlines concerning the Corona-virus-19: I have to wonder, what happened to the first 18. Now don't panic as I've recently heard the stores will be closing for lack of supplies by April. I don't believe that. Anyway, here it goes...."State of Washington Now Reports 9 Deaths Due to Virus".... Death Toll in Iran From the Virus Rose to 77, with 2,300 People Infected"...."Italy's Virus Cases has A lot of Schools preparing for Closure, to Include College and Universities".... Scientists and doctors seem to be coming out of the woodwork to post their views on how serious this virus might become. Some call it a pandemic, some say it will be worse or not too bad compared to Spanish Flu. Then we have politics entering in and I truly believe non-serving politicians should stay out of it and allow for the serving politicians do their jobs. Now as far as I know I have not found any evidence of a virus case here in Alaska. But our low population probably has a lot to do with that. But in three months the first Cruise Ships will be arriving in Seward, Will be curious to see how many passengers are on board and if they'll be allowed to leave their ship. Be a tough drag on tourism, but no one wants that virus either.
We've been having a lot of eagles out lately and I learned something new by watching one of those TV documentaries. A bald eagle doesn't gegt his white head until after his 4th birthday. I had thought it would happen much soon.
Mona has been struggling with a flu bug, but it looks like she is getting over it. Guess that's it for now. Love to all and may the Lord shower you with blessings. BILL
