What we do if you become an ADP Author

Assist you with planning and guide you through the entire process.
We will help you plan and complete your writing project whether it be a How To Book, Short Novel, Full Length Novel, Children's Book or virtually any other publication.

E-Books and POD (Print on Demand)
POD (Print on Demand) and eBooks have specific formatting requirements, especially regarding artwork and graphics. There are multiple eBook formats in use and there are many steps that must be completed to successfully publish a book.

If you'd rather not go it alone, let us take care of the details of the publishing process while you focus on your writing.

After publication, we will market and promote your book and pay you royalties.

Distribute and promote
We will promote and sell your work through the popular book vendors such as Amazon, Barnes and other popular distribution sites. We will also setup a personalized author webpage and blog on our ADP website to help stay in touch with your fan base.

Beware of Vanity Publishing
  • Vanity sites claim they will publish your book, but then ask you to pay for services such as formatting, uploading, marketing, artwork, etc.
  • If you do wish to self-publish, we do offer services such as planning, formatting, and marketing at some of the best rates available.
  • If you're interested in self-publishing and would like to use our services, visit our  Consulting Services page.

Frequently asked questions

How much will you charge me to publish my book?ADP does not charge authors to publish their books. If we accept your book for publication, we will offer you a standard book publishing contract and share royalties with you.
(See next question.)

Do you pay royalties?
We share the royalties from sales with you. This is how we can publish your book without charging you to do so.

The royalty rate we offer varies, according to the type of project we publish for you. Thanks to new publishing technology, our upfront costs are very low compared to traditional publishing methods. Therefore, we can often pay a larger royalty percentage than a traditional publisher might offer you.

How 'Good' does my book have to be?
Traditional publishing methods require large amounts of upfront capital to publish a new work which makes it extremely difficult for unknown authors to get published.

The major publishing houses have instituted policies of only signing already well-known authors and celebrity's. They do not accept manuscripts from unknown authors.

However, thanks to the new publishing technology that is available, we often accept manuscripts that traditional publishing houses would not.

Even if you're a new, unknown writer still developing your craft, we will consider your manuscript for publication.

Contact us about your book here, and let us give you a realistic assessment. You're under no obligation.

Do I need to provide my own artwork for the cover?
Not necessarily. We design the cover but can use artwork you provide if you have it.

What is an eBook?
An eBook is an electronic version of a book typically read on one of the popular eBook readers such an an Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook or other popular devices like tablets such as the iPad and smartphones.

Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple and Google also have free eBook software that you can download and read books and magazines on your laptop or desktop computer.

Contact us and we will be happy to provide links to the free eReader programs from each of the vendors.

What is a 'Print on Demand' Book?
A POD (Print on Demand) book is a printed book that may have a soft or hard cover binding.

The main difference between a POD book and a book published using traditional processes is that POD books are literally 'printed on demand' as they are ordered by customers.

Many types and sizes of books are available from standard paperbacks to large coffee table style books that are as good or better quality than books published using an old style offset press system.

What if I want to 'self-publish' my own book?
We offer consulting services by the hour or by the project, depending on your needs. Please contact us for a quote.
