Issue 05 Published October 29, 1985

Still at 24 pages, this issue added ads on the inside front and inside back covers. A handwritten in-house ad was also scratched in on the back cover.

Bob Comments:
No real significant developments for this issue. We were finally getting some numbers back from the Fairbanks News Agency. The first couple of issues sold about 300 copies between them. Not bad, but we were hoping for better.
However, exhaustion was becoming a serious problem at this point.
We had already committed to the Fairbanks News Agency next week's issue, but told them we may be going to a bi-weekly issue after that.
I was still on unemployment and Michelle was working part time as a cocktail waitress, but money was getting tighter. The ad sales were not even close to carrying the magazine at this stage of the game.
I didn't want to lose the 'up to datedness' of the weekly, but realized there was probably no other way.
I forgot to mention earlier, one other time consuming item was the restaurant and club listings. We would literally call them EVERY week to verify the information and try to keep it up to date.

Please be patient while the magazine loads for the first time below.
The magazine was scanned at a higher quality setting and consequently, the file size is somewhat large.
