Greetings to all on this fine Spring Day. Recently, we were surprised by another dropping of snow, but it's almost all gone now. It is yard work time and thankfully, we have two strong lads here to help out. Firewood to gather and cut, veggies to plant and books to write.
Oh! My new book, "Legend of Silene" is now on the market. Both by hard copy for $29.50 ( that might be too high, but it's close), and Kindle at $2.99. I really enjoyed writing this sci-fi fantasy and you can check it out by either going to Amazon or Alaska Publishing Company. This is my 5th book and runs to nearly 650-pages. I never thought it would run that long, but I had a story to tell. I feel extremely blessed by the Lord in Him providing me with my stories, and the help of Rob Jacobson, my publisher. Susan Smith, my editor has 5 books awaiting her, while I'm in the middle of a new manuscript. My ultimate goal has been to have my books be used to help bring someone to Salvation. Though, I probably never find out until we meet in Heaven, and that's alright.
I'd really like to hear what you think of the new cover, as a professional graphic artist was used, for which I owe a dead friend for sponsoring this. I hope to continue using her, as book sales allow. But, check out one of my books on Kindle and let me know what you think, from cover to the actual writing. Improvement is always needed and for this I rely on my readers and their critique.
I've ordered a new box of books to sell this summer, hitting the Bible stores, fairs and festivals. Now, if you would like a signed copy, mail me your book and I'll be delighted to sign it and mail it back, no cost for return mail,l as I'll take care of that. I never knew my signature was worth anything until people began asking for it. I once discover a book written by one of our former governors, a good man, and found his signature in it. I checked to make sure, now it sits in my library. But, because of my memory problems I cannot recall his name right now.
Now, this is an exciting month for me...sort of. I find it hard to believe that I will be turning 65 years old. My darling wife will be turning 60 next month and in July we celebrate out 38th year of marriage. I mean, where has all the time gone? I look at photos of my beautiful children, grandchildren and now have my two great-grandchildren living with me, and I feel so blessed, so incredibly blessed. I recall playing one of those stupid board games that will foretell your future. I can't remember the name of it, but you put your hands on it and let some mysterious spirit move your hands around. Well, I was about 13, maybe 14, and it foretold that I was going to die at war and have 3 kids. Boy, that spirit sure blew it, as I have 6 kids and a whole bunch of others. Though I did go to war, but I had planned on joining the military when I was 5 years old. Thought I was going to be a Marine, but went with the Air Force because it offered a better family life and I was engaged. Life sure turned a lot of flips in the years to follow. Anyhow with this birthday, I'll be eligible for Social Security, which comes with an extra $400-$500 a month and Medicaid. Now I might be able to receive a couple surgeries I've been putting off, probably a brain transplant and shorter feet. Years ago the doctors gave me pills to help me lose weight, and I did lose over 150-lbs. Now the Doc's are giving me pills to help put weight back on. I'm not sure our doctors really know that much about the drugs they give us. I'm almost weened off a major pain drug that I've been taking for 30 years and believe me the weening process has not been all that fun. Please, if you get given a new drug, check out the side-effects and then decide if you think its worth it. I listened to the Docs, and didn't read all the side effects I could expect. Then the company contacted me and told me that pill I took for 30 years should have been used for only 5 days. No wonder why my memory works so poorly. But, thankfully, no dementia in my family- either side. Of course I've already outlived my father and his father. No, I'll be here until the Lord calls me home.

Well, my friends, that's it for this week. We should all be watching and praying for what is happening in Israel and its close neighbors, to include Eastern Europe, and the possibility of nuclear war spreading into World War III. The growth of Islam should also be observed and our prayers are called for, if for nothing else but to protect the United States from falling victim to the Sword of Islam. As to whether or not Islam could become the one-church, I can only observe its growth and leave the years to come to my family and friends. With its spread, democracy appears to be lost, at least from what I have observed. Seeing the growth of Islam in China has greatly surprised me, as this country was looked upon as the secure home of the Buddhist faith. Now, the last number I have seen is that Islam has grown to 8% of the Chinese people. Throughout Southeast Asia, the Muslims have surged, to where the Buddhists monks now go around armed. A very unusual sight, as they were so anti-violence when I observed them in Vietnam and Thailand.
