Our Alaskan weather has been steadily changing.
If you haven't already heard it, yes- I slept through the 7.1 earthquake. I woke up and Mona had to show it to me on her handheld computer before I believed it just wasn't one of her nightmares. Our house, embedded in bedrock, took up most of the shake. Not a thing was tossed off the shelves and believe me, we have a lot of stuff on our shelves. Apparently the epicenter was approximately 159 miles from us, but 7-pointers can really spread out. Out Soldotna-Kenai and Anchorage- Wasilla stores took a lot of damage in fallen glassware. We were told the liquor stores and condiment aisles kept the night crews busy.

I made my ever popular chocolate chip cookies last night, but added some peppermint creme to the mixings, along with a 12 ounce jar of chunky peanut butter. Nice taste. Thought about adding some cashews, but they didn't belong to me and kept my hands off them. We have a shared kitchen, so some of us have our favorite foods saved for the late night munchie attack.
