I'm starting to get emotional again so I will switch to another subject. Mona and I have decided this has got to be the wettest summer in the 16 years we've lived here in Moose Pass. Not once have I needed to water my trees, the grass or the garden areas. Nor have I had two-days in a row where I could use a lawnmower-all summer. Now in truth there were two-and three day sunny periods, but I couldn't lay a hand on a lawn mower. Our two had broken down and were now good for fishing weights. But, we were able to borrow our Niece's mower a month ago, and it sitting waiting. I need at least two-day as of sun to have dry grass. We'll probably have snow before that happens.
House is quiet with Canaan, the kids and Susan gone. They should be back by Wednesday, unless they choose to stay longer. We had a nice surprise Saturday evening when our youngest son, Joshua and his lady- Jenny, came down for a visit. Then they visited with his sisters over in Soldotna the next day and stopped by here for a hug. They are moving to Washington D.C. where Joshua has a job with a federal agency. He first had to attend a three month long academy. I've been at one for a short visit, they seem to run a lot.
Hey, I finally got hooked up so I could listen to my old 60-70's tunes while I'm writing. John Alex got Pandora loaded into my computer, it's great.
Book report: I'm wrapping up Book # 9 and will shortly start Book #10, giving me only 3-books to finish for the Fire & Ice 12-book series. Legend of Silene is the hands of the publisher and were still wrestling with the cover ideas. Susan is now editing the book "Rookie". This is the first of five, "Badge and the Cross" books. For those of you who have read "Blake's War", the first in a series of 5-books about the Arizona Rangers from 1860-1900, send me an e-mail about what you thought- pro or con. An author always needs to hear both, to become a better a writer. Mona finally took a chance and she read the original "A Coming Storm" and then sat down and gave me her critique. Mostly favorable, but her cons are helping me with my last three books of the new series. I'm making some changes.
Now a bit of news:
Gatestone News: Story by Bruce Bawer- Germany- "Terrorist In Germany's Parliament". As Germany continues to crack down on criticism of Islam, it is now allowing a Terrorist Organization- "Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine", to run for seats in the German Parliament. Even though, this organization is recognized as terrorists by the United States, Canada, the European Union ( of which Germany is a member), and Australia, this is being ignored. This terrorist organization plans to run their candidates in this upcoming election for seats in the Parliament. ( This is how it begins, from within. Nearly every civilization...Rome, Greece, the Ottoman Empire, and more fell from the inside- rotting from crooked governments, failure to pay their military, overextending themselves financially....list is long. But to the best of my memory the US has proven itself a rarity by last well past the 200-year marker.)
Washington Free Beacon: Audit finds 134 cases of medicare beneficiaries who were abused or neglected. Cases also report of alleged rape, maltreatment and sadism were cited. This audit dated back to 2015 and ran through 2016, but 2017 records and prior to 2015 being reviewed. Estimated 22% of beneficiaries who live in skilled nursing facilities suffer these sorts of problems and an estimated 69% could have been prevented . ALSO- Report that the Federal Government has paid $37 million to dead veterans.
Gatestone News: "When you see a rattlesnake poised to strike, you do not wait until he has struck before you crush him." This statement was made by then President Franklin Roosevelt on September 11, 1941...3 months before Pearl Harbor. He made this statement in one of his radio "fireside chats" with his fellow countrymen. He then authorized his U.S. Warships to fire against Nazi naval vessels to which he called "rattlesnakes". This had come up due to North Korea's 6th and most powerful nuclear test last weekend. North Korea is "perilously close to being able to hit targets across the continental United States with nuclear warheads perhaps thermonuclear ones."
Washington Free Beacon: Iran- "Iran's clandestine spy network has been threatening and blackmailing scores of journalists, even going so far as to detain and threaten family members of these reporters, in order to ensure a positive coverage in global media outlets." According to a new report that estimates at least 500 international journalists have been threatened just in the past year. "Iran regime has used financial tactics to crackdown on western media outlets."
Global Times: Australia- Detainees Awarded (US)$56 Million Settlement" Asylum seekers and refugees had been held on a small Pacific Island off of Australia in a remote island camp. This is actually Australia's largest Human Rights class action settlement.
Manila Times: Vietnam- "Hanoi, Vietnam has delivered a sharp rebue to China over military drill in the South China Sea, the second such warning in a week."
Manila Times: Beirut- Human rights Watch in a report last Wednesday accused Egyptian Security Services of widespread torture of its detainees.
Gatestone: Europe- "Politics has raved European Law and Values" The September 6th ruling by the European Union Supreme Court demonstrates the European Union has usurped the decision making powers of its 28-member states, by ordering two such states- Slovakia and Hungary to open their borders to all asylum seekers and refugees. But many suck seekers and refugees refuse to relocate to Central Europe because the financial benefits paid there do not match up with how much Germany, Scandinavia and France pays. Europe is rapidly becoming less Christian, the religion most of these countries were found on. Again, learned and knowledgeable people feel Europe will become a Muslim State. But Poland, refuses to bow to the order of the EU Supreme Court and remain steadfast in their current migration policy.
Washington Free Beacon: "Feds Spend $1 Million For a Robot That Gathers Data on High School Kids." ALSO- Feds spend $138,000 for asking 4-year old kids about, "Internal Sense of Gender Identity". ( I wonder how many 4-year old even understand what that means.
Global Times: China- "Chinese residents concerned over North Korea's nuclear tests fall-out." But, Chinese health officials have said this 6th test had no effect on China (I'm betting this is a bit high on the propaganda dial). ALSO- "Australia -led Military Drills show Tougher China Stand." "This is especially being seen over South China Sea issues." ALSO- "Palestinians condemn Israel's plan to build 4,000 units in East Jerusalem." They accuse Israel of undermining the two-state solution, which Israel refuses. ALSO- ASEAN welcome's China Proposal to Further Enhance, Integrate Economic, and Trade Ties."
Gatestone: Story by Khadija Khan- India- While in India has done away with the "Triple Talag (Means Divorce), which had given a Muslim husband the ability to say "Talag-Talag-Talag" and become instantly divorced from his wife. It now seems that such a practice is also against Muslim Law- as from the Koran, and it was also against India's Constitution- Article 14. But now in Britain, these abusive practices against women continue and in some cases, being upheld by the British legal system and allowed to occur in the new Sharia Courts. This allows Muslim women to be shown a "Lack of equality , and total lack of equal justice under law." Truth and Justice is being denied them. ( I believe this also violates the British Constitution and seemingly ignored.)
That's it, folks. I pray you are all having a nice day, your weather is beautiful and that you take a moment to say a prayer for our 9/11 heroes and bless the surviving families. Having a great day!!!!! God Bless, BILL
