Today is our eldest daughter's birthday and being polite, I will not mention her age. She was born in Oregon, is a gifted artist and is now a grandmother to two lively children that live in our home. Happy Birthday, Elizabeth!!!! Tomorrow is Liam's birthday, this is Elizabeth's son and one of our grandsons, who is turning 23 if I remember right. Happy Birthday, Liam!!!! Ah, to be 23 again....no way! I feel I have earned everyone of my 65 years and next month I turn 66. This is also Mona and my 39th year together and our 18th year in this home. Time sure goes by fast when you look back at it and slow as pudding running down a dry creek bed when you're living it day by day.
I just wrapped up my final editing for my story, "Stronghold", another book in the "Badge and the Cross" series. "Rookie", the first book is due out any day, while "Homeland Security" receives it final proofing and "A Political Action" await final review. I've completed the 2nd part of the "A Coming Storm" story, but it needs editing by someone other than myself and this story deals with the Battle for Jerusalem against the forces of Satan. I also have two Arizona Ranger stories currently being reviewed by the publisher, "Geronimo" and "Indian Wars", while my editor Susan is working on the third book in the Apache Snow Trilogy- "The Sandbox Wars", a story about a young officer serving in Afghanistan. So, I think I'm going to begin a new book and will be going through my various notes to choose one. My old friend, Gary Wells, began to write a story that he never got finished as he went to join with the Father. I miss him. I'm thinking about using his main theme for his story and finishing it in his honor. I believe he would've liked that. Truly I have been blessed in that my 6th book is about to be put out for sale, and a long time ago I had trouble even understanding the English language. Admittedly, I flunked Freshman English in high school because I lazy, hated homework and my mind was spent on one goal- girls! To get my high school diploma I had to redo Freshman English as a Senior and that was a bit embarrassing. but, I did it, though at the time I was heavily involved in sports and also engaged to a young lady. Now I have a pile of books beside my bed and I devour 2-3 of them every couple of weeks. Have to pause for a moment to help my wife make our bed up.
Bed is made. House is quiet as everyone in the house, but Mona and I, are gone today.

I've noticed that while reviewing the various news sites from around the world, the major countries, to include China, Russia and the U.S., are actively engaged in the immediate build-up of their militaries. New weapons, broken promises and past agreements, and the enlargement of their troop strength. Even the U.S. plans to greatly enlarge our troop strength, but its the high tech weaponry that concern me as most of them are not easily defended and World War III could eventually lead to a barren landscape. Can you imagine how many people in either of these big three countries be fed for what the cost of one nuclear missile goes for? Meanwhile, Mother Nature is on its own gradual increase in earthquakes and active volcanoes around the globe. Because of its many fault lines, the State of California is having daily earthquakes in the 3 point range or higher. What does it all mean? I have no idea, just commenting. We have global terrorism, old enemy states saber rattling or engaged in conflict, religious wars brewing and the U.N. has become more of a large group of used cars sales people biting at each other, outspoken anti semitic and pro-Muslim rhetoric. Now, I'm not knocking the Muslim faith, as I support our country's belief in Freedom of Religion, but I do not support the terrorism, or the physical abuse and imprisonment of Muslim women. Nor would I support any Christian or Jewish church that practiced these heinous acts. I have distant family members who lost their lives in the concentration camps of World War II and some of them had cousins who wore the Nazi Uniform. Yes, my family is of a background of German Jew. Oddly enough, I had family who were members of the Hessian mercenaries who came across the Atlantic to fight George Washington and had to flee to Canada when the war didn't go their way. Eventually, quite a few of them returned to the U.S., settling in Wisconsin where my Dad was raised. It just seems to me that humanity is seriously flawed, bent on destroying itself and only through the love of Christ have we prevailed. But, I can imagine God is getting a bit tired with all of our self-righteousness and stupidity. Maybe, that's how God felt when he sent the flood of so long ago. If not a believer, check into history of the world as nearly every major civilization has a story about the flood, the Arc and the critters it carried. Now that I found interesting.
Okay, I'm rambling on here and you all have things to do. So, I ask the Lord's blessing be upon you this day, may your week be wonderful and healings and blessing be upon all of you. BILL
