One is clothed in a yellow "Star Trek" shirt and armed with a phaser. Beside him a second Gnome, lying in the dirt, and he is wearing a red Star Trek shirt. His short also has a nasty phaser burn, which killed him and his mound is in scripted with "Join Starfleet they said, It'd be fun they said." Sort of grounds me out, maybe better word is "evens". I recall being told the same thing when I joined up with our military. In Nam I saw a little bit of fun...maybe more than that. But when the rockets flew and you knew they were a "shoot, aim at the whole base and hope they hit something important" type shot. It scared the be geezers out of you. They scored two direct hit on the barracks beside us, killing 8 men I never knew. I realized, these two rockets had flown over 5-miles and I was only 20-feet from being hit. Makes you think. Oh, back then I drank a bit more, too. War does make you think, which is probably what led me to 20-years of police work. I'm nuts! but it was a great career and it's given me great material to write about.
And Mike, you are in my 2nd book entitled Apache Snow # 1. I used my friendships with you, Frank P and Dudley to help write this story, but I changed your names to protect the innocent. Hope you get a chance to read it. Book 2 is out and I'm nearly done with Book 3 of the trilogy.
