Felicitations to all from the windy valley of Moose Pass. As I type, I am listening to my lovely wife-Mona, provide kitchen instructions to two very reluctant 19-year old boys. But either through her imposing a terrifying fear factor, or simply a respect for the old women ( she still did their laundry and could really do amazing things mixing the whites and colors had she wanted to), they stand there very still and listen. But I can hear the occasional swat to a shoulder when one of them goof-ups in the cleansing part or releases a profane word, and soon, once she is satisfied, they will jump into the cooking part.
Currently they know how to microwave packet, but only those that come with instructions, make blackened toast, fry eggs, leaving the pan in disgusting shape, and the boiling of water for macaroni & cheese. For their own survival, it's a good thing John Alex, Mona and I are around to cook dinner, but I still recall those days of long ago when my Mona plopped me down on a stool in the kitchen and begun my first lessons. Washing dishes I already knew, but being a true city boy of Southern California, she had to teach me how to use cast iron frying pans and how to use a chain saw, a difficult wood stove and several other basic needs for an Alaska home. I owe it to her brothers in how to use an axe correctly and a splitting maul, and how not to attack a round of green wood. They had set me up and I bounced back about 4-5 feet, stunned at what had happened as my splitting maul bounced off the green round. But before long I was out there lugging armloads of wood to the truck that seemed to keep moving farther and farther away. Well, we filled my brother's wood shed and then some. Now all I needed to do was find out where I had lost my arms out there in the woods and what happened to my very athletic 27-year old body. My best guess is it had apparently collapsed somewhere along the trail during the 102nd carrying chore.
Since then, I have learned how to walk in the woods using both feet, making sure to duck under the low hanging branches, listen for bears and foul smelling critters with teeth. But now I am armed with a cane, or two and those low branches have no chance against my metal swords or the occasional 7-foot tall by 2-inch circular spruce pole. This also makes a good incentive piece to help my 19-year olds along in their chores. Strange I can't remember being so forgetful at that age. Of course I was coming home from my war. Poor boys, I think I've bored them silly with my war stories. Dreadful.

There's also reportedly a lack of federal help for the communities having to deal with "financial and burdens of accommodating a large share of 1 million immigrants, mostly Muslims she allowed in." She has also recently said that she takes no responsibility for the recent "spate" of violent attacks in Germany, that has left 13-people dead in one week.
Attacks on the United States Electrical Grid have begun and a "USA TODAY" analysis of federal energy records found that our grid is being struck by physical or cyber attack every 4-days. One of the best known attacks of recent time is when snipers opened up on the Pacific Gas and Electric substation in San Jose, California. They kept up their shooting for 19-minutes and destroyed 17-giant transformers. No suspects were found and it took workers 27-days to bring the substation back on line. (Taking the American grid out, which is not impossible with current day weaponry and computer knowledge, could send the US back to frontier days of the 1890's. Unless you have emergency generators, you'll have no power to bring your water into the house, to run your microwaves or worse, your electronics and cell phones once their batteries had given up. No more fuel for cars once the last of the gas was syphoned from the station's tanks. No more planes, cars, trains and buses. Also, a limited amount of back-up reserved for the military. Not all the attacks are from radical Muslims, several radical factors out there desire to bring America down and they come right from within our own country. It would be wise to have emergency supplies, medical and weapons/ammo, also water and cold weather clothing and footwear.)
Turkey's President Erdogan closed down 130 news outlets, public schools and is dismissing hundreds of people since the coup failed. Cadets in military schools were told an exercise was underway and handed empty rifles, before being dropped off at assigned roadway intersections. They have all been arrested and their families haven't been allowed to see them.
Israel Security Officers reporting Hamas is digging 10-kilometers of tunnels every month into Israel and into Jerusalem.
Germany reports from Turkey, of how the Turkish Government has "sacked 60,000 civil servants, including military figures. 10,000 of these have been arrested. 62 children were arrested and charged with Treason."
Pope Francis has announced, "The world is at war."
a 2016 study in Germany show that 32% of ethnic Turks agree, "Muslims should strive to return to a societal order such as the time of Mohammed." More than 1/3 of the Turks in the study say, "Only Islam is able to solve the problems of our times." One fifth feel "The threat which the West poses to Islam justifies the violence." Some Muslim migrants in Germany feel they should be able to change their full names to be more Christian sounding ones. NOTE: The study failed to reveal the numbers of those involved. As a personal remark, being a 20-year police officer, taking on Christian names would cause a difficulty in locating the radical Muslims, or those possibly looking into this process. But on the other side of the coin I am remind of how when World War One was over my maternal grandparents and my very young mother, were persecuted for their German names and they altered this name to stop this treatment. It did stop. but none of the Germans were trying to blow up America until 1939 to 1941, when the American Nazi Party was allowed to exist and they were carrying out acts of espionage and sabotage.
Pres. Obama ramped up his program to immigrate 625 Syrian Refugees in one week to cross his 6,000 mark since last October. With little time left to go before his September 30th deadline for 10,000 refugees, which he has so far spread out among 38-states, he must bring in over 1,000 a month. A good share of the refugees have entered without full security checks and there are simply not enough Homeland Security/FBI/ Immigration Officers, to handle this job. A large group of Syrian refugees are going into church programs and housed in members homes. Once this occurred, they become totally lost to the federal government.
"Terrifying Power of Muslim Interpreters", a story put out by Gatestone, reports that these interpreters hired by Homeland Security, other law enforcement agencies, weld a mighty sword against the women they are helping to interview. Muslim women are being told not to use words such as rape and sex, as it dishonors their husband. That if they complain to the authorities they can forget about their application for asylum. Foreign Christians were threatened, so they retracted their complaints. The Muslim women were accused of being a blasphemer for going to the police, as no woman would report on her husband. (This is part of Sharia Law).
In Denmark, Sharia Law is allowed, which hurts children and teens, and is now embarrassing Danish authorities. A Television Documentary, "Sharia in Denmark", exposed how widespread and how often Sharia Law was being taught inside the Denmark Mosques with the country's permission.
That's the news for now, but I'll be looking into the Orient in the next couple of days. However, keep your eyes and ears on what is happening in Europe. If Russia invades the Ukraine and other satellite countries of the former USSR. It could be a defining factor into NATO and/or the EU responding to the advance. But Putin may wait until he sees who the next President is going to be. In any event this could be a leap frog into World War III. President Obama keeps stating how his policies stop Iran from building the bomb and that is sort of true. But what Iran did was take all that money given to them, by us, was to ship everything to North Korea, where the work was accomplished for them.
A side note, in my book, "A Coming Storm", the comet strikes the earth in September of 2017. Impact point is Southeast Asia. 6 out of 10 dreams, or prophecies have come about in one fashion or another. Only some are exact, while the other dreams have tied in with events. The 7,8 and 9th dream occur around or in Jerusalem, or Israel. But the 10th, that's the comet and I really don't mind being completely out of my cog on that one. I also know thousands if not tens of thousands of people probably re same dreams, I simply wrote about it.
A Coming Storm was supposed to be a solo book but then the Publisher and I decided on making it a trilogy entitled "Fire and Ice". The first book is "Dawn of Prophecy" and the 3rd book is "Final Challenge". Check out the new cover for "A Coming Storm". Both A Coming Storm (new cover) and Book 2 in the Apache Snow Trilogy- entitled "In Search of Honor" should be out the end of next week.
I really encourage all of you to dive into the writing world. My publisher has recently said the "How To" books are quite popular. Now, I never thought for a moment I'd be a writer and I know it's only the Lord's blessing that brought this all about. Take a try. Fine tune it over and over. I believe I edited Apache Snow more than 20-times and still Susan needed to work on it. Now my westerns are a different venue for me, but I really enjoyed writing them. Over my desk I have prints from a Louie L amour calendar and these show the very characters I wrote about. Every time I look at them my 3 stories come to mind. I lost the 4th story when my old computer broke down and took the story with it. Oh, we tried to find it and I was 3/4 done. I will write it again, if the series becomes popular. It's about the Arizona Rangers, as if most of you didn't know that.
Tomorrow, James & Becca, plus our 3 beautiful granddaughters arrive for our last visit before they move south to northern California. It will be hard having them out of the state, but it was sure nice having all my children living here. Except Tommy and his family remained down south. But we all have to grow and the younger ones must experience life in all directions.

I'll let you in on a little secret, my nickname as a cop in Dillingham was "Godzuki", Son of Godzilla. I was blessed with that by my Chief when he told me to take down an 7-foot tall giant with muscles between his ears and a 68-inch chest. A fight I will always remember. The rest of the department, 3 officers and the Chief had 7 or 8 others to deal with. But eventually we got them all to jail. You'll have to read "The Rookie" to get the whole story.
