Hello. By checking all my calendars and asking my Grandson Liam, I realize this is Tuesday, not Wednesday as I first Thought. For some reason I kept thinking it was Wednesday and tomorrow was Thanksgiving. But I have been writing a lot, editing and writing some more about a war I never fought. Still, the further I get into this tale, the more I understand how old veterans will say, "War is war, you fight and die in the same fashion. Same brothers, heroes and cowards, and the enemy remains the bad guy." I've finished Chapter 3, edited it to (76) pages and still, no KIA (killed in action) But my troops have taken several Purple Hearts for wounds received from the enemy.
In answer to a question, 'yes' in writing these books I am pulled back into my own history and there are a few nights I lose some sleep. But overall, the experience helps me in my writing as I relate to the soldiers. In writing Apache Snow Book 2- In Search of Honor, I used my own PTSD in the much of what the title character experienced. The difference in, I was able to sober up after the Lord frightened the wits out of me. Throughout my life, especially after I became a Christian at 27 years old, the Lord has used similar methods to get my attention. But throughout it all I believe that only He could've have directed his Angelic soldiers to save my life. I'll get into those in later books.
In my forthcoming police series, I begin with "Rookie", which is based in Dillingham, Alaska. It shows the reader what life in small town rural Alaska is like, especially for a young married police officer just out of the military. This was the beginnings of our life, except I use fictional characters. Over 75% of the police cases actually happened, which include homicide, rape, shootings, major car accidents and a disagreeable- very disagreeable fishing strike that my fellow officers and I were nearly killed working to keep order. Rookie is finished and waiting to be edited and I've started the second book in the series, "Stronghold". This one is based on my time in Skagway, Alaska. Here I worked quite often with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on border incidents. There was murder, a lot of drunk and disorderly when the train outfit was closed down and unemployment rose up to 87%. But my biggest challenge was the spooks and a witches coven that had been in existence and its membership left in secrecy for over 85-years and maybe more. Graveyards were torn apart, the bones pulled out and used for evil sacrifice. After 2 -years I was able to identify half of the coven and this was a no-no. This got real fun then and that will be in the book.
While waiting for a publisher crazy enough to give my an opportunity, I've written a lot of stories some are still in the "note" stage. I figure I've got about 15-years to write before I find my favorite story and jump right into it. Become either the main heroic character, or his comic sidekick.
We've had a couple more inches of fluffy white stuff, but now its been clear and cold. 19 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. John Alex made us a great steak sandwich last night for dinner. He has become quite the cook, but I told him that I've lost so many of my teeth from medication he has to slice the steak thinner, chew it for me first or pound it out. Bummer getting old.

Such stores as GAP, Target and Walmart, plus 23 other well known North American companies, operate 107 factories and they have failed to fully implement safeguards nor did they agree to sign legally -binding agreement to improve workplace safety in Bangladesh. Of the 107 factories inspected 3.5 yrs after the deadly accident, still found 57% have compromised fire exits, 58% do not have functioning fire alarm system. 41% have uncorrected structural problems. Walmart alone has 62 factories employing 120,000 people that do not have fully viable fire exits. ( I've been told that Walmart is owned by the Mormons and having grown up one and lived off and on for 27 years as a Mormon, Church of Latter-Day Saints. I know how much ever dollar is worth to them. I also found them to be racists, but they've worked hard to bury that side of them. Normally, I would not say anything, but I have walked in those shoes).
