Snowy River, which comes out of a series of massive glaciers to our south and feeds the famous Kenai Lake is at an extreme low. We haven't seen the river this low in the last 18 years, leaving mud flats between some of the bodies of water.
I am reading Clive Cussler's new novel, "Celtic Empire", that I picked up at the Seward Library and the story is about a woman's group who develop a new strain of disease to wipe out more than half of the male babies in the world. This is to make the female species the dominant race. Interesting so far. Cussler is an adventure writer with nearly 100 books to his credit and I enjoy most of his stories. I also like W.E.B. Griffin's stuff, L'amour's westerns and Stephen Coonts. I suspect I use a bit of their writing talents in my own stories. I am now an avid reader, who before I met my lovely wife, spent most of his reading time in comic books. She got me turned on to an author named Heinlein, a fantastic sci-fi writer, now deceased. I truly recommend his early writings...such as "Glory Road" and his 7 sci-fi stories referred to as his "juvenile science fictions". There just fun to read. "Glory Road would make a great movie, but only two of his books were made into movies in the late 1950's. "Starship Troopers" was one of his stories made into a movie, though the book was much better.

I have read how the penguin issue has really stumped the experts and it also concerns the environmentalists. I am also a bit curious as to what is happening to the African Giraffes, as to show them being endangered. Africa continues to have problems with poachers, to the point that even their armed forces have become involved in catching these vile people. I am also curious what the police are going to do in Texas for their theft cases of less than $750, that's just opening the door for thieves to help themselves and forcing the victims to have to proceed with civil complaints. Any police officer will tell you that a thief who gets away with such thefts will eventually graduate on to larger prizes.
Well, time for me to switch over to working on my current manuscript. Yesterday I spent time making the editing changes for "Homeland Security". Susan is editing "The Sandbox Wars", the 3rd book in the Apache Snow series and covers the Afghan War, while Mona is editing "Homeland Security". My current project is temporarily entitled "Night Shift", part of my "Badge and the Cross" series.
I wish you all a wonderful Monday and may all your prayers be answered favorbly. God Bless, BILL
