Wow, only 10-days to Christmas. Time is simply racing by and our rain continues here in Moose Pass, but still hoping for a good heavy snow before Christmas. I've never had a green Christmas in Alaska, but tales of grass popping up in Barrow (Still trying to remember how to spell the new Inupiat name it is now going by), but the grass is mixing with the tundra. This has the locals really wondering of what might lay-ahead.
Polar Bears up north are not looking too good, as there isn't enough ice for them to use to get to their hunting ground. Some are turning toward the Native communities, where they are usually shot in protection of the people. The photo of the bear in today's paper looked so bad, the bear must've lost 300 pounds- that's my estimate. In any case, the bear was not healthy and heading for the trash bins of the locals. And yes, this also causes problems with the local's dog teams.
Two of our boarders left today, but they'll be back for Christmas morning and they know they always have a place here. No, they do not pay anything, but help out with labor around the place. Some people think were a bit crazy, but those people have no idea what goes on here. We're able to plant seeds, help them work through troubled times and provide them with love. The Lord provided this home, in so many ways you might never understand, provides us with helpers who have joined in our vision here- no, they didn't drink our special cool-aid. Long ago the cool was spelled with a C, instead of a K... Until the Lord tells us were can now stop or turn it over to someone else, we will continue. We are blessed in so many ways, which includes the sale of my books.
I've been looking over my options on my next book, after I finish with "Indian Wars", Book # 2 in the "Arizona Rangers" series. I gave this a lot of thought and decided on a new book, naming it "Massacre", a fiction account of the true "Mountain Meadows Massacre". This involved Mormon renegades out of Salt Lake who attacked a wealthy wagon train that had stopped in Salt Lake City on their way to Oregon. The renegades killed everyone older than 8 years old. They didn't believe the younger kids would've remembered this attack. But, some of them did and news of the attack came out. Eventually, the President of the Mormon Church in Salt Lake went to the spot of the attack and had a rock moratorium constructed to honor the dead and he reportedly excommunicated the renegades out of the church. I have some documentation on this attack and I'll be gathering more before I begin the book. Why am I choosing this story? My wife had relatives who were killed in this attack and I've heard bits and pieces of this story through our 37-years of marriage. This will also give Susan some times to edit my other books.
Some years ago I received some criticism on "A Coming Storm". One item was negative and the rest was positive, and Susan reminded my off this item last night. So, I thought I would share it with you. He or she, I do not recall, was negative about my showing the Chinese tanks moving across the bogs and Alaskan terrain. I believe they were referencing my Dreadnoughts, the Chinese were using. Massive super-tanks that are armed to the teeth. I used them also in my 13-book series. I had picked up Intel that the Chinese were building such a critter, so was Germany and Russia. Probably some U.S. College engineering student sold the plans on line. Anyway, I reference you to World War Two, when American, British and enemy engineer regiments carried their bridging sections along with them to ford streams, creek and very wide rivers. Sometimes the tanks themselves carried grates, same designed as those strips used for emergency constructed air landing strips. And this was over 70 some years ago. Now the terrain the Chinese pass through in Russia is tough, same for Alaska. But here in Alaska, alongside the 750-mile long oil pipeline. This road is wide and can handle just about any piece of equipment needed for these large sections of pipe to be used for replacement, plus in the initial construction. Now, Russia and China has signed an agreement to build a similar pipeline from the Russia oil fields down to China. Russian oil fields are fairly close to Alaska. Now, you may not have heard this, but now Alaska and China are preparing to sign an agreement to build a natural gas pipeline between them. This will bring about another road. True, it is my belief, China and Russia will sign a treaty, but China will violate it and sends millions of soldiers into Western Russia, and will then turn on Alaska. China is in need of our natural resources and that of Canada's natural resources. This is why it is in my book. I tend to laugh when I read about China various moves to come west.
My eldest daughter recently showed me online speech of Canada's former Defense Minister, where he openly reports on some of Canada's classified documents. Basis of the speech intends to warn us about an Alien invasion. No, not Muslims, but real aliens. According to him there are two regions in space that have forces interested on invading earth. One is good guys and one is reportedly nasty. But, he also reported that Canada and the US have been in communication with these "people". No, I didn't hear as to why these people are coming here, maybe to visit Disney World or steal all of our water ( Remember that sci-fi series on TV?). But, the invasion is to occur next summer, no month or date, and he wanted to get the word out. Truly an interesting guy and still comes off as a politician. I guess we will see. I still recall Hal Lindsey's "The Great Planet Earth", I believe that was the name. But he wrote about the end of the earth and provided the month and year. It really caused a stir. When it didn't happen, he wrote a second book with new dates. That one didn't sell as good. I was an Air Force Law Enforcement Specialist with the Security Police and also became a Narcotic/patrol Dog Handler. One of things I liked to do is go down to the Office of Information and go through their archives of now unclassified documents- mostly photos. I saw the giant veggies and fruit they produced with radiation. A watermelon 6-feet tall, stuff like that. They just couldn't find a way to get the contamination out of it to make it safe to eat. One of the photographs was the U.S. Army/US Air Force, working jointly to build their first flying saucer. Oh, this looked cool and yes, it was actually a life-size saucer, with two separate cockpits for pilots. Yes, it flew, but only straight up. They had this massive fan in the center of the saucer. Up and down. Whenever they tried to bank the fan it would almost shake the saucer apart. But it led to other projects. While I was there I went through the Blue-Eyes episode, the real one. The one on-line is a croc! Blue-Eyes never hurt or killed anyone, nor were any law enforcement vehicles thrown about. The guy who wrote it was never assigned there, or at least while I was there. Enough about the bizarre.
So, Christmas is coming and we're out there frantically trying to find the perfect Christmas gifts, or trying to get the packages in the mail. Time is running out for that, but we all hope in Miracles. Mona and I made it simple this year, we're going to buy new bedding in January. We haven't had new bedding in a very-very long time. But, I still picked up a gift for her for Christmas morning. No, I will not tell you. Happy Holidays.

( Like you can keep your normal medical practice with the new insurance package). They also report President Trump has told 103 separate untruths, many of them repeatedly in his first 10-months of office. (They're both politicians, we expect them to lie. Sad part is how many believe them and re-elect them to office from borough/county, to state to the U.S. Capital.)

ALSO- NY Woman has been arrested and charged for sending $85,000 in Bitcoins to the ISIS. Arrested in her home and also charged with defrauding several banks, using fake identification. She sent the funds through Pakistan, China and Turkey. She is believe to have been radicalized online, then spent time in Jordan. She also had a dozen credit cards at time of arrest and now faces up to 30-years in prison.

Fordham University coffee shop owner kicked out students who showed up wearing MAGA baseball caps. (Make American Great Again). A total "meltdown" reportedly occurred. Apparently, according to the report, the University Liberals, anti-Trump students out-numbered the Conservatives- "Appearance of pro-American clothing now sends them into full witch-sniffing mode and triggers them into seething tantrums..."

Hey, do you remember Christmas night of 1972. Crazy night, the Viet Cong seemed to be enjoying it as much as us, all the tracers were being fired straight up on both sides at midnight. Then on the 3 am bell of the 26th, the next rocket attack hit us. Good to be so young back then. War is really for the young people. I still wish our troops would come home from Afghanistan, 17 years is just too long. Merry Christmas, my brother.
