Good morning to all of you on this Sunday morning. We've had two-days of heavy rain and Saturday morning we woke up to termination dust on the mountain tops in our valley. A wee bit early and heavy lake fog this morning. The U.S. Navy and Marines are in Seward this weekend, aboard the US Navy quick reaction troop carrier.
They're here to practice various war duties/drills, including refueling off beaches. Lots of Marines aboard, more than 500, including officers. Weird looking boat, used to land Marines-rapidly. No secrecy violation here as all this was printed in newspapers and provided by US Navy Information Officer.
We're all hoping the termination dust will leave, normally not due until end of October, but Alaska has seen major snow falls as early as mid September. Got hit in Fairbanks with nearly 3-feet, trees still had all their leaves and had them all bent over. Lost the family tent I had up to air it out. National Guard was brought in, city had no power for 7-days. No one was prepared for snow that early, they hadn't even brought out the snow removal vehicles to tune them up.
Our friend Chad came over with his tractor and moved Chris and Elizabeth's bus into its new position in the backyard. We're planning on building a roof between their bus and ours to provide us with a dry garage. Chris is a real wheeler-dealer and trades his mechanic work for all sorts of things. I just picked up a trailer load of metal I-Beams that will support our planned garage. We've taken our collection of old tires, piled them up to make walls and will now have a new storage bin, covered by tin roofing and tarp.
I am not positive but I believe Dividend Day will be October 4th or 7th and everyone in Alaska who meets the criteria and signed up will receive about $1,580. It appears part of mine is going toward a new computer tower as mine keep crashing. John Alex got it up and running, but is unsure of how long it will last. I had plans on buying a rifle, but need the tower for my writing. Also have to get new chainsaw. Time to get our wood supply built up for the winter, average 10-12 cords of wood per winter as we only use wood heat to keep the house warm. With Chris and John's help we hope to build a new deck next summer since Chris picked up all this steal and wood in a trade.We've wanted a deck since we moved in here 18 years ago.
This winter there will be at least 10 adults living here on the land. Liam, our grandson and Elizabeth's 2nd child, is with us for at least the winter. Canaan and Patrick have moved to Soldotna, where she works. Patrick working down in Oregon and comes home every few weeks or so. Great-grandchildren growing fast: Solomon and Segan. We also have right now 5 dogs and 4 cats on the property, plus the occasional black bear, dozens of voles, arctic hare and every now and then a very shy lynx. Plus barn owls of some size and the stop-over eagles; Bald, American and Golden. Very pretty to watch fly. Our lake also comes with Loons and beautiful white swans. Then you add in tourists and you can see why I wanted the rifle.

These men are poorly trained by the State of Alaska and also not allowed to carry firearms, totally opposite of the Reservation officers in Lower 48. Our whole police department resigned when the white city council ordered us to enforce the state laws on the native population, but to give the white population a pass.)

I don't really believe Turkey should become the next nuclear power, not after what they have shown to the world over the last 7-years. Also, I have studied the rise in Antisemitism across the globe and the only thing missing so far is the Nazi death camps. To see the rise in Nazism in America is so disheartening, to see such an evil growing amongst us is frightening and everyone should be praying this is brought to a halt-fast! My mother faced this sort of persecution when she lived in Ohio and went to elementary school. It forced her family to move to California. Yes, I am German-Jew, thought I am a Christian and I am thankful for my ancestors and the have studied some of the ordeals they went through and it was so scary for the children to endure.
Now we have Jewish Christians and I have some friends who still practice the old ways, but believe in Jesus as their Savior. Remember, our Old Testament is filled with mighty heroes who were later accused of being a Jew. Such as Samson, David and even Jesus. It would seem that some people just need to have someone to hate, to blame their misfortunes on and this is sad and truly not very Christian. Try to remember, Israel is one of our few Allies left. Enough said for now.
